The polar wolf, also known as the Arctic wolf, lives in the northern part of North America. Smaller than some other canine subspecies, it can still measure up to 12 cm long (including tail) for an average of 45 kg. Recognizable by its thick white fur, short legs and rounder nose, the polar wolf can withstand temperatures of up to - 6 ° C. However, these extreme conditions make it difficult to mate. The alpha male and the female are the only ones havoing the right of reproduction within the pack and, after 2 months of gestation only 2 to 3 cubs are born. They are born blind and deaf and are therefore entirely dependent on their mother.
